I get regular cleanings and check ups at the dentist. Ive had a recurring problem if.i eat something hard on the right side of my mouth (carrots is thr big trigger) that my back molar hurts and the gum around the tooth is sore and may bleed. I avoid eating on that side for a few days and the pain goes away. This happens a few times a year. My own dentist can't find anything wrong with the tooth/area. Is it worth seeing a periodontist ? I am 48.
I think it’s hormonal. I am the same age and it happens to me too a few times a year usually right before/during my period.
I second this. But also carrots are really hard to chew and it's not inconceivable that foods like that would temporarily cause pain in your gums. I can't even chew gum anymore without my gums and teeth hurting. I also get very sensiteive and swollen if I'm at all stressed or don't get enough sleep. |
I think it is worth a second opinion.
Op here...oh wow...it is time for my period ( cycle is getting longer and less predictable) . I had no idea the two coupd be related
