I was just wondering who in real life has time and patience to be with or even live with the persons who keep posting mean and sarcastic comments on this forum day and night.
Do you have anyone? |
| Did someone hurt you? |
| Yo momma. |
| Maybe mean people have more friends than nice people. |
| Come for the extreme narcissism, but don't let it make you angry. I treat this site like I'm David Attenborough looking at a pack of wild boars through binoculars. Fascinating. |
Entirely possible. People also often like meanness in real life. People can be very basic and often just gravitate towards an alpha, and while sometimes an alpha is gregarious and warm, often they are just aggressive and antagonizing. But also I think a lot of the mean comments posted on here are from people who never say stuff like that IRL but want a place to vent anger and frustration. True about the nastiness of the internet as a whole, I think. |

I think your premise is mean. While I am married, the majority of my single friends are single because they want to be: they value freedom, spontaneity, and not being tied down. That doesn’t make them low-value people who don’t have lots of people who love them.
Who has time to ruminate on DCUM meanies, and tying meanness to being single? When I see someone be mean on DCUM, I assume they either are having a bad day, or there’s some background resentment they have on an issue that they’re “venting” on DCUM. Like, if you get worked up over someone else’s ILs or parents or kid’s teacher, you probably have unresolved issues with those folks in your own life. |
| DCUM is no different than any other SM. The internet is a toxic, toxic place and you need to proceed with caution. |
- jobless men who can’t find work - disability long-timers - for college forum, young men age 15-22 who are very invested in brand and who are naturally competitive |
I know someone who trolls on here. She finds it funny to get reactions out of people . She's not like that IRL so it's very odd to me. I found out accidentally |
| I think some of what is perceived as mean on here is really just bluntness and not sugar coating things. Which, in text, comes off harsh. But there are also people IRL who prefer people like that. So it doesn't surprise me if they are married and/or have lots of friends. |
| Since people are anonymous here they feel emboldened to be mean. They may not be like that in real life. |
No you don't. |
| Democrats are easily 90% of those who post on DCUMAD. |
Of course! It’s mostly men here on DCUM! That explains everything! |
