New Construction $1.5M and below

What areas and builders should we be looking at if we are trying to find a new construction home for under $1.5M? I work in the 22180 area but have basically given up finding anything around there.

Because it doesn't exist there? Why doe sit have to be new construction?

Sterling?

I’m sorry but it doesn’t exist. This is why people who make $500K here still call themselves (and feel in their day to day lives) middle class.

For SFH - Not in 2026 for all except Manassas. Brambleton you’ll get a newer build but not brand new.

People are silly. This exists much closer in than people are suggesting, but you'll be zoned for awful schools:

As the above poster said - certain areas of Falls Church with caveat you will get zoned into Falls Church HS or Justice HS.

A couple friends had a 1.5m budget and had to look past Ashburn to Haymarket and Gainesville for new construction SFH with that budget. You could also get lucky a little closer in in Aldie.

No wonder the housing crisis is getting worse. It is Insane you have to live out in the boondocks to be able to afford a new build under 1.5 million.

We much prefer living in renovated older homes closer to DC but that is not for everyone. We probably could not even afford that if starting out now.

Good luck finding somewhere to call home. You should be able to find something very nice for that budget.

Ok ... but one doesn't need "a new build."
