Day visit to Shenzhen from Hong Kong?

Considering doing this, if possible. Any tips? Suggestions?

Why, do you want to tour some tech factories?

Macau makes more sense if you are looking for somewhere to go outside Hong Kong.

Pointless. Not interesting. Need visa. Go to Macau instead.

If in Hong Kong, would agree with going to Macau instead.

Shenzen is interesting, but if you are going through the trouble of getting a visa for mainland China, there are far more interesting places to go.

Macau is pretty unique. More interesting than Shenzen regardless. If you are going to enter mainland China, might as well go to Guangzhou, which will be a more lively experience.

Are you looking for a fake handbag?

Shenzhen is where the locals are dining and shopping because it’s so much cheaper and the quality of dim sum at least is good or better.
But I’d only visit if I didn’t need to get a visa.

Shenzhen is too new, nothing interesting to see. I only go there to visit my relatives.

These days, best dim sum anywhere is in the new Chinatown part of metro Vancouver. All the best chefs have emigrated there.

I have visited many cities in China and there really isn't much to do in Shenzhen.

Might as well take a daytrip to a restroom stall... probably more interesting.
