Connection between Caffeine and Menstrual Cycle (?)

Anonymous
Lately, say over last 2-3 cycles, I've had more coffee than I normally would (say 2-3 cups per day instead of 1), and I'm wondering if this has had any negative effect on my cycle. (I know I shouldn't have more, but for various reasons, mainly stress, I had more ... I am conscious about this, though, and will modulate.) For example, this month, my period is already nearing the second day beyond the anticipated date, and I've always been very regular. I know it could be anything/many contributing factors, but I realized about the caffeine intake and wonder if there is any connection. If anyone can relate/has input, thanks in advance.

Caffeine has no affect on your cycle, but stress does. If you were more stressed out this cycle, it means that you probably ovulated later (because stress does delay ovulation), hence delayed period.

Thanks ... I'd have to agree that stress is the likely culprit here. I do wonder about the caffeine, though, and I've read that for TTC it should be minimized... So, in any case, moderation should be key...
