Does your kid go to daycare when you are on vacation?

Does your child also get a vacation when you do or do you give yourself a child free day when you don’t have work?

It was mixed. More often than not I would take him out too. But there were definitely "adult only" days

Usually if I'm off it's for a family vacation or a holiday when daycare is closed. I've had a few vacation days of my own for weekend trips that they're not going on or to just shop and catch up on stuff around the house.

When my kids were little they were sick a lot, causing me to need to take leave. I didn't have a ton left. I generally took days off when I had something to do. So, if I was taking off because I had planned to take them somewhere? Then obviously they were with me. If I was taking off because I had the gynecologist and the accountant? They were at daycare, but maybe I could pick up early.

A teacher I work with sends her toddler to daycare every possible day the daycare is open, including all summer, unless they are out of town.

Nothing wrong with that.

Why did you bother having kids?

Why are you posting here instead of being present for your kids after school?

Yes my DH and I did a couple of days where we took the day off and DC went to daycare. It was glorious.

Not unless I take the day off to do something like a time consuming medical or dental procedure, but I don't think that's what you are referring to.

I worked a compressed schedule when my kids were little. I sent them to daycare on my off day. I did all the errands and house chores so we could enjoy the weekend together. No need to drag them around.
