Can anybody weigh in on the various universities there for engineering - specialties and teaching quality? This is for a DC student.
Why Pennsylvania only? Public only? If private too…why not include Delaware, Maryland, Ohio, New York, or New Jersey?
|
For public, Penn State.
Private: CMU |
York College of PA has a co-op program and a great fitness center
Drexel, Lehigh
Carnegie Mellon and Penn would be the best. But Penn State is also very solid. And Pitt, Lehigh, and Villanova are also good.
is it basically in keeping with SAT score ranges?
Also Bucknell and Layfette
so no one is weighing in, these are just names.
Penn.
Well, what are student interests?
I’ll take a guess. Engineering? Duh |
This is OP. Just delete this thread, I’ll go to Reddit.
Can’t weigh in about specifics, but we toured Lehigh. Pretty campus. Engineering school seemed to have nice facilities, but small compared to everywhere else we visited. Every other school (including other privates) had multiple buildings and space. This felt pretty cramped. Kids there all seemed to be happy with their choice to be there, but not rah rah. Dorms were the worst we saw. Dingy, old and didn’t feel welcoming.

Doesn't the University of Pittsburgh have a highly ranked engineering program?
