What is Your Club Doing for the World Cup?

Anonymous
Other than a bracket, our club isn't doing a thing and we are a bit shocked.

A huge opportunity for the clubs to capitalize on the excitement, but in the end there are no watch parties, kids tournament, anything. Just would have expected something more.

So tell us, what is your club doing?

The club - nothing that I am aware of...our local USL team is hosting free watch parties on the big video board at the stadium with food trucks and their concession stands open.

You expected clubs to hold tournaments for the World Cup? or to have a club wide watch party? What resources does your club have? Maybe invite your kid's team over.

Some people love to lament perceived problems

Some people come up with solutions

Did you offer to help your club organize something? You know most local clubs are non profits

Nothing.
But the tournament this weekend at the MD Sportsplex is our last tournament. The team is disbanding. Onwards and upwards to a new team in August!

Doing a bracket is something, right?

They don’t want you watching and hearing “lazy” excuses as to why US Soccer is bad (ie the youth ecosystem).

Non-profits HAHAHAH

is that why all “directors” are making anywhere from $150-200k

Some are in the 300s by the way

All of the parents are going to go topless at our next game, to celebrate the World Cup. It’s free and it’s fun!

“All directors” isn’t accurate. Arlington, Loudoun, Alexandria aren’t all the clubs in the dmv.

Horrible anthem singing and flyover to start the game. Paraguay 1 USA 0.

Current club is a big club having watch parties.

At our former small club, I organized watch parties for the club. I hope they continued the tradition but I don't it because most people would rather complain than organize.
