Recently saw Broderick in a commercial enthusiastically touting Hard Rock's new gambling app.
Seriously, other than money/greed, what in the world would prompt an award-winning actor to stoop so low? Plus having a spouse who brings in money. Not to mention he pled guilty in the 80s to being part of a MLM illegal business. I guess age hasn't brought him much wisdom. |

As much as I love Ferris Bueller and that he’s had a long-term marriage to Sarah Jessica Parker, I feel like he’s always been very shady.
I read Jennifer Gray’s memoir and he sounded just like truly a bad guy. Cheating on her left and right, and then when they got in that horrible accident not letting her seek medical care because he didn’t want to draw more attention. She ended up having chronic back problems for years. |

He was likely paid seven figures for an afternoon's work. That's why. And nearly all your sports and movie stars are doing the same thing. Easy money.
And since everyone is shilling for gambling apps, there's not much of a reputational hit these days. The Kardasians are worth billions and still do it. Kevin Hart, Neil Patrick Harris, Drake, Jamie Foxx, Snoop Dog, Timothee Chalamet, Rob Gronkowski, Wayne Gretzky and on and on are all promoting gambling apps these days. If you haven't noticed, in 2026 people generally value greed over reputation and integrity. |

I’m disappointed whenever I see anyone shilling for the gambling industry. Ryan Seacrest? You cannot need the money.
I think Matthew Broderick was probably a jerk in his younger days. He had quite a bit of success on Broadway as a child actor then made a very successful transition to the movies. It would inflate most egos. Still, he seemed to pick intelligent women to date and then marry. He grew up in a very liberal environment, so I think if he was gay, he would have come out. |
