South San Francisco Home Buying

Are the homes in South SF area usually sell for higher than asking price? I see a few homes at around 1 mil. I am wondering if this is what buyer should budget for or significantly more than 1mil? Looking for a starter home.

Depends on the home. I don’t know SSF as well but probably ~10 percent over asking is average right now.
