Why was the discussion of the Karmelo Anthony situation locked?

Hadn’t heard about it before the thread; it seems like a true hot-button type issue.

Why stop the expression?

I'm betting it got racist and nasty real quick.

I explained why I was locking it in my post in that thread. The thread was very racist from the start. It was growing even more racist towards the end (frequent use of the n-word and so on). From experience, I know that such threads get even worse overnight. I was not interested in waking up to a KKK rally. Therefore, I locked it.

- which fails to resolve the hot-button status of this situation.

But whatevs. My guess is the situation will be discussed / debated / argued over for quite a while elsewhere online.

Jeff owns his site and can choose.

The sheer ignorance and racism displayed by the pro Anthony Karmelo supporters is the real ugliness not some deflection to non exist KKK posters.

I am fairly certain that Anthony Karmelo supporters were not posting the n-word posts that I removed. I also know for a fact that those posts existed.

Why do you feel entitled to an explanation?

Thank you! I guess I would be considered "pro karmelo anthony" in that threada, although I don't think he was innocent, and my posts were very respectful. In fact, some responses I received were just stupid, rude personal attacks because I disagreed with the murder conviction.
