| We are looking for a long weekend (Thursday/Friday through Monday) while our kids are away at summer camp. It’s been a difficult and exhausting year. I’m looking to unwind, which is mot my usual mo. Driving or a direct flight are both fine. Welcome any thoughts. |
| Beach, mountains, city, hotel/resort? |
| Alaska is lovely in July |
|
Cancun and San Juan are easy flights. This is exactly what a nice AI is good for.
Or you can just head to Baltimore and hang out at the 4S or Pendrys. |
|
Lodge at woodloch
Baltimore or Philly (you can take the train) Easton MD Or stay here, book a hotel with a nice spa (or just go to the spa) and sleep a lot. |
| Thanks. No city, anything else is fine. Any suggestions for specific hotels is very welcome |
|
Look at renting a cottage in Muskoka (lake country with cute little towns) or Prince Edward County (vineyards, farm-to-table dining), both are a 2 hour drive from Toronto.
|
| Budget? |
|
Fly to Burlington VT and make the easy and scenic drive to Stowe.
I don’t know specific hotels but there are several good ones. There are spas. Lots of good food. Lots of hiking and biking. |
It is, but for a long weekend? |
| We do this every year while our kids are at camp. We have primarily done local getaways. We've done the Wildset in St. Michaels, Goodstone Inn in Middleburg and L'Auberge Inn near Shenandoah NP. This year we're going on a short cruise. |
