Irritated with offices and insurance

Anonymous
Twice now I've had offices tell me 2 days before my appointment that either they don't want to take my insurance or insurance denied the visit weeks after waiting for the appointment. It irritates me so much. I have to wait for another office all over again.

Just a suggestion: you need to use your insurance portal to confirm that the Dr or office/group is in-network. You can even call your insurance company instead and ask the office to provide the doctors NPI. Do you require referrals for specialists? If yes, those need to be in before you are seen.

Its also unclear what you mean by dont want to take my insurance. They either have an agreement with the insurance company or not. If they do, they cant not see you unless they are no longer taking new patients. If they are self-pay, you should know that up front.
