What is happening at CityDance??

It seems like they were on the up and they suddenly lost two of their leaders in a 2 week time period. Stas Issaev was an icon at CityDance and he quit abruptly in May and is now joining Lorraine Speigler at Alchemy. He didn't even finish the year and left with almost no notice. I don't think CityDance has even formally announced it. But I am sure they know it doesn't reflect well on them and that's why.

They seem to have had a lot of transition in a very short period of time with leadership and I have heard a lot of students are leaving. Hopefully they can get their act together because I had heard good things this year and had considered enrolling my son there.

Every year they go through a new transition period where they try to reinvent the wheel.

We were there this year and are not coming back. Many of my DD's friends aren't either.

Whatever is happening there doesn't seem to be any worse than what's happening at TWSB. Maybe try Maryland Youth Ballet. I think they are very stable.

I heard that the environment at the Falls Church campus is not a good one. People stealing pointe shoes, parents threatening to call the police, and a lot of unhealthy favoritism by teachers. I don't know about the MD campus.
