How can we position ourselves for the Treasury market deterioration?

The special role of the Treasury market is in peril.

Government debt, inflation and unpredictable policymaking are putting the world’s most important asset under threat, argues Mike Bird in a special report

This, from @TheEconomist article on "America's decaying Treasury market needs a fix," is one of many reasons why the US has a vital interest in restoring its government bond market—long the world’s gold standard—which has suffered from years of steady erosion.

I fear that when it goes south, it will happen fast, very fast. I still remember when AIG hit A- and had to be rescued, seemed like it happened in a week, flipping from great credit to default.

This is another goal of the Trump administration— makes no sense to destroy the dollar’s status as reserve currency but they want to do it. Guess they figure they’ll make money off it and blame others for any problems.

This is wishful thinking on the part of non-Americans. This is not a real risk at the moment. However it could be in 10 years or more.

UST is not going anywhere. Naysayers like Chinese or Russian don't have enough confidence in the market to push their own bonds and noone will trust them in the future either. EU bonds are all over the place with significant more borrowing coming.
