How does a p/f class with the .5 credit work? This one is jazz band.

The student will either get a Pass or a Fail. The pass won’t have amy effect on their GPA, a fail will result in a 0.0 GPA for the class.

Well that Stinks. What is the incentive to take it then?

The student is interested in jazz seems to be the most obvious answer.

P/F will never have an impact on GPA with a pass.

I think the reason they offer pass/fail is that it would otherwise be a general class with no grade bump, so even if you get an A, it will bring down your weighted GPA.
