Small victories

Today my kid did not take the bait when a child who has been rude and unkind to her started in on her again today. In the past she would have engaged (which goes nowhere and just ends in tears) or sat there angrily taking it (while likely also crying), and today she just stood up and walked away. I am so, so proud of her.

Tell me about your kid's small victories this year. Let's celebrate kids for doing the tough stuff that doesn't get noticed or heralded at the end of the year.

OP, a story for you. Sort of similar to yours. Mean Girl was telling DD that DD would not be invited to Mean Girl's party. Mean Girl went on-and-on about: who would be invited. How great the party would be. Repeating many times how DD would not be invited. Then, in exasperation, Mean Girl says, "this ... this bothers you, right ??!!"

"Duh" was the only thing DD said. Mean Girl left the scene very dissatisfied.
