| We recently moved to DC for work and I'm thinking that a Hill intership would help my DD's application. Does anyone have tips on how to find one? |
| I saw calls for some but it was back in January (for the summer). |
| Oh, God bless you |
Has to be a troll. |

| I’m kind of confused at these insinuations? I voted for Kamala. |
| I agree odd responses….., but usually they put calls for applications in December/January for the following summer. NAACP has an incredible internship program as well. I’m not sure if there’s a listserve you can get on, but typically you just go look on the different Congress person’s site and find information. E.g. my high school student wanted to do this for Don beyer but they were only accepting college students. It’s not always clear if it’s for high school or college. |
OP, this is a great opportunity and yes one to pursue. Ignore the haters. Typically, interns are in college and are rising juniors or seniors. Is that your student? |
Thanks, she is a rising senior so I know it’s a bit late in the game. |
Yeah, too late for a rising college senior. Dc's friends who got the competitive capitol hill and other DC internships applied Nov-Dec during junior year in college, interviews jan-feb. The ones who got them all had related internships the summer before. The college internship quest begins the first year/first summer, and is as easy as talking to professors and getting an in. Move up from there, ask upperclassmen how they did it. |
Do you mean rising senior in high school? for college applications? |
| Ask Member from where you lived. Kid should do that. |
| If you intern for a Republican remember you will be advised not to put that down on your common app depending on which schools you apply to. |
Too late- kids are already working. They applied 6 months ago. Sorry. |
