58 yo, I had CO2 laser 5 years ago with upper bleph and LOVED it, but haven't done anything since.
I have an event coming up in 5 weeks and am primarily looking to improve the texture on my face, though there is a bit of redness and a few spots that could be removed. Also, I could use some work on my chest to improve the look (redness, old sun damage) I'm looking at a few different derm clinics, and they offer different types of lasers. I don't have much time to visit each to decide and then schedule a treatment or two. If you were me, where would you go, and what laser treatment/s would you do? I see dermatologists on IG who offer multiple lasers at your appt to treat various skin issues (which makes sense to me), but it feels like in DC you have to pick the 1 type of laser treatment you want? Thanks! |
| Have you seen even one of those derms yet? You need to talk to one. Isabela Jones did a great job of explaining the options with lasers to me, and why she would/wouldn't recommend this or that. I can't remember what was said, aside from the fact that she doesn't have the super powerful one in office, but if you have an event in 5 weeks you might not be scheduling that one anyway (there is major recovery time from it -- the people who do it are mostly Hollywood types). She can do everything else. |
| Do Moxi and BBL, or if you want more aggressive Halo and BBL. |
| I’ve only had Botox and a tiny bit of filler but based on those procedures, I’d go to Capital Skin and Laser (or Capital Laser and Skin?). They seem to be about as good as it gets for cosmetic derms in the area. They are very good and never pushy. They are, however, expensive. |
I work in the industry and agree with this. Cap off with a hydrafacial the day before |
| Anyone have experience with Ultraclear laser? |
| Do 2 sessions of microneedling! |
| Fraxel Dual - incredible result from 1 treatment. Combines the exact same treatment of moxi for pigment with the original fraxel wavelength that helps improve texture and pore size. $1000 at my cosmetic derm's office. I do it once a year |
| i was thinking about doing oligio, botox and microneedling (regular not rf) this summer as my tweakment. I really want surgery but waiting a fwe years and don't want to do anything too drastic since some of these things have side effects, like fat melting. Second hydrafacial. OP, burning off a couple of sunspots made a big improvement for me last spring. Just took about an week and a half for the pigment to surface and shed--was a ruby laser at the center for laser surgery. |
| Where do you recommend moxi and bbl treatments? |
My go-to place for anything cosmetic. |
What does the oglio and micro needling generally cost? |
| Go to Dr. Adrian at the Center for Laser Surgery. |
