Oakland Real Estate Recovery

Anonymous
We have seen our home value deflate after 2022 and we now would lose money on the sale according to Zillow.

But with San Francisco resurgent because of AI fortunes, shouldn’t that lift the Oakland real estate boat? Any idea on timeline as we were hoping to move for more space in near term.

Should this be posted in real estate forum?

OpenAI and Anthropic IPO will open the money flood gates, get yourself ready to list if you really want to move.

I think it depends on what part of Oakland. Some of the traditional “hills neighborhoods” are seeing getting AI spillover. Specifically - Rockridge, Montclair, and Crocker. I think the rest of Oakland will be slower and spottier. The city (SF) is crazy right now, and I think it has more room to go. If so, nice parts of Oakland will benefit too. That is almost always the case.

We are in Cleveland Heights, near the Lake. So no Montclair but perhaps will be on the upswing?
