Thank you gifts for coaches?

First time participating in Rec and wonder if it’s expected to give thank you gifts to the coaches? A gift card of 25$ each would be ok? More? There are 3 coaches.

Not expected. Usually one of the parents will take up a collection and the coach gets a gift card for $135 or whatever to Dick's. In all me seasons of coaching, the most memorable gifts have been handwritten cards like thanks coach for helping me work hard and impove and I got to score my first goal...that kind of thing.

$25 each is totally fine for rec. We usually do a group collection from the team parents and get one bigger gift card per coach, like $50 Visa or Amazon. Takes the pressure off individual families too. A nice handwritten card from your kid goes a long way honestly.

Usually the team manager organizes collecting from all families (like $20) and gives one large GC as a thank you.

When DH coached, sometimes he got group gifts like described but it was rare. An individual card was really appreciated, even without a gift card. He was always shocked and touched with the gift cards or any cards with a note of thanks.

We donate $50 at the end of season to every team gift pool - sometimes more if there are a lot of coaches.
