Online Compounding Pharmacies

I’m just starting to research GLP 1s. Are online companies reputable? I was thinking of getting Tirzepitide from the website Fridays. Has anyone used them? Is there anything I should look into in my research? Thank you!

My doctor will not write a script for them because she considers it unsafe. My personal physician's medical opinion is enough "research" for me. YMMV.

+1 get a prescription for the approved drug.

I use Brello. My physician knows and has no issues with it. She is thrilled with my bloodwork since losing 25 lbs.

I use Lavender Sky.

I can not get a script from my Dr. I have Kaiser Ins. and she will not write it per Kaiser policy. I am very overweight but my bloodwork is at normal ranges. I see the responses to not go to online options but I am not sure why. Have you had bad experiences? I am just desperate to lose the weight and looking for options.

I get it from an online company and I have to meet regularly with one of their nurse practitioners to get my script renewed.

Down 65 lbs so I must be doing something right.

What is the "Kaiser policy"? That they won't write a script for weight loss meds unless you have bloodwork outside of "normal ranges"? I don't understand.

Yes. Kaiser will not write the script for weight loss alone. They only will order GLP1s with a Diabetes Diagnosis. I don’t qualify based on my bloodwork.

Ok. They probably just don't want to be in the weight management business -- a lot of PCPs have this policy because it is too much work, especially admin work with preauths and whatnot, to the extent the practice can end up losing money. So I'm not surprised Kaiser has taken this tack.

In that case, get seen in a legit local weight loss clinic. There is a great one at GW, but I think they are overwhelmed and no longer taking new patients. There are others out there -- search for obesity medicine specialists. Not Med Spas. Much better than going the online provider/compounded drug route.

I use Brello as well. I told them I was 5’5 (I’m really 5’6 but wanted to fit in their parameters for weight loss need) and 158 (which I did) when i started and now hover around 123 and have been there microdosing since Xmas.

Also using Brello. Lost 20 lbs since the beginning of the year.

Unfortunately not all insurance companies will pay for this and most people don't have $1000/month to pay out of pocket.

It's more like $299/month. But yes, compounded medicines are not regulated. I would never inject an unvetted compounding pharmacy's illegal GLP-1 into my body.

I know a lot of doctors and they are all very against these compounding pharmacies for GLP’s. I wouldn’t risk it.
