I'm in my mid-50s and have never owned a cordless handheld vacuum. This means I have had three and a half decades of dealing with wayward crumbs by hauling some upright behemoth out of the closet, searching for just-the-right attachment, then proceeding through an endless cycles of knocking-over-upright, cursing, righting, and starting again.
And friends? Today is the day I end this fruitless cycle. Can you help by recommending your cordless handheld? I don't want a stick vacuum - I'm looking for something diminutive with a charger that plugs into a wall outlet, and it just sort of...hangs there, waiting for me to need it. And when I do -- when the cookie crumbles, as it were -- I need only reach down, lift it from its case, and wield its lithe, light form like Arya Stark with her Valyrian dagger at the close of The Long Night. Bonus points if it holds a decent charge, is easy to empty. And f it looks good and isn't too loud... well, perhaps that is too much to hope for. A girl can dream. Thank you in advance. |
| You're not going to find anything better than a Dyson on the market. I will never go without one ever again. Hangs on the wall near my kitchen and does exactly what you describe but it's strong enough to pick up dust and cat hair. I vacuum very often because I have three cats. |

I hope you are a professional writer, that post is wonderful.
To answer your question, I love this one: https://www.chewy.com/shark-wandvac-wv201wh-lightweight/dp/2268454 Only downside is that it is easy to confuse the on-off switch with the latch for the collection bin. But it’s small enough that is an easy enough mistake to fix if you accidentally dump the contents. |
| I have the Shark, I like it because it's very small. |
| Agree, I bought my mom a shark on amazon since it's only 1.4 pounds. She's elderly and can't work with anything heavier than that. |
| Dyson stick. You don't have to use the stick. |
| Following. All I have is a Dyson animal ball thing. And I'm very over it. |
| Love is a strong emotion for a vacuum. We have a Dyson stick and it's good on hardwood, but not really strong enough for carpet. Still, I use it on the carpet anyway because the corded upright is a pain. |

I love my Dyson stick, but have one of these in the pantry and it’s perfect for vacuuming crumbs on the table or along the cabinets in the kitchen.

Dyson.
However, since I got a Roborock which vacuums and mops at the same time, I only use Dyson to pick up small bits occasionally. |
