Does your Air Conditioning work at your child’s school?

My kids just got released at 10:30 AM from Cardozo. The heat took forever to turn on. Now the AC doesn’t work!!!!!!!!!! Five kids passed out due to the heat!!!!!!!!!!!

I work in a DCPS ES and there are some areas of the school with very little AC and some that are very cold (gym/cafeteria).

Cardozo’s average room temperature is 86 degrees. No AC

Some rooms get as high as 89

80+ degrees in the classroom is unacceptable. How do we make DCPS commit to replacing shoddy HVAC systems? What can parents do?

It’s DGS that’s in charge of HVAC. Push your council member about it.
