Restaurant in DC that's fun for teens special night

Anonymous
Want to do a family dinner in DC - coming from NOVA. Teens are adventurous eaters. Looking for somewhere with an interesting menu and a fun vibe that will have reservations available for this weekend. Something like 2012 (which is pretty much the last time I ate out in DC) Zaytinya.

Maybe China Chilcano if Zatinya was a previous hit.

Maybe ilili (yes that’s the name ) on the wharf. Wacky decor and also a Mediterranean menu

Beloved BBQ at Love Makoto. It’s fun to grill at your table and all the sushi and other dishes are delicious.

I just went to the Ilili in NYC (original location) and it was so so good! Lebanese/Mediterranean menu so think shawarma, hummus, falafel, an eggplant small dish that amazing. delicious fresh spreads and salads. Chic and fun atmosphere. So that might be fun and adventurous if Wharf area is ok.

Thanks - those are all great suggestions! Especially interested in Love, Makato. Maybe we'll do a museum first.

The sushi place at Love Makoto is also great.

I would also throw in Bazaar. Really pretty hotel lobby and lots of fun dishes to share.

These are great. Now I'm making a list, so happy to add more suggestions for future nights out.

Check out Chai Pani - really good and interesting food, easy to share dishes, and great decor/fun visual setting.

Second on Chai Pani and then you can get ice cream in Union Market at The Creamery or bubble tea at Spot of Tea!

Honestly I went to Zatinya a few months ago and it was still superb and fun - just like 2012! Same with Oyamel.

I really enjoyed Love, Makoto as well and the sushi was excellent but it was so loud conversation for our 4-top was a challenge.

I would not recommend China Chilcano. Very blah.

I know it’s old school - but if you have adventurous eaters, I would think about Rose’s Luxury. I still remember the first time I had that pork and lychee salad and back in the day booking the big garden rooftop for out of town guests and blowing their minds…

Sorry - didn’t realize you needed reservations this weekend. Maybe RL won’t work.

Agree. The garden rooftop is such a fun experience.
