DC spot: Good but not Fussy

Looking for a spot for an upscale date night that has really good food but not fussy (e.g. I was not thrilled by CHICKEN LIVER PARFAIT or PIGS EARS on The Dabney's menu, but their other items looked great).

Basically any Steak House…
Chicken liver is pretty common on many menus so that’s not weird or exotic anyway.

I know i Ricchi is a bit old school, but I still love it.

Also Reveler's Hour in Adams Morgan. Namak is also decent.

Red Hen is a great suggestion. I haven't been in a couple years but Little Pearl also hits this spot.

Joe's Seafood. White tablecloth, impeccable service, excellent food. Not stuffy.

Yellow (All the Kebabs) in Union Market!

Love the i Ricchi throwback. I used to go there in the early 2000s when I worked nearby and haven't been in ages. Will definitely add it to my list.
