It’s so bad, yet so good. It’s not a high-quality program, but it’s one of my favorite tropes and I bet yours too, the nerdy yet beautiful girl is poor and needs something from the arrogant hot popular guy.
They decide to get together to fake their relationship as they both have something to gain. Of course they start off not liking each other and you can guess what happens. Similar to Can’t But Me Love! But in college. So good. So bad but so good. |
| It’s no Heated Rivalry, but I enjoyed it. Super cheesy, but fun. Soundtrack is great too. Read all the books years ago. |
| All the teens are loving it. |
| Just what I needed this weekend. Also, Could lead to great conversations about consent and trust with kids. |
| I started to but 10 minutes in I felt like was watching my kids and couldn’t enjoy it. |
| I started it, but I’m not sure I’ll finish. The leads have no chemistry, the dialogue is annoying me, and it’s so far-fetched that these 3 guys who look like they can all be related would all be into her. |
Their chemistry gets good. Wait for the very hot montage in episode 5. The only disappointing part for me is that the lead girl doesn’t wear glasses. It would’ve been much better if she took off her glasses in episode two and we saw that she was super hot with big boobs after all. |
| I loved the books. I read every single one in the series and there are a ton. The show isn’t quite as good but I enjoyed it. |
I just watched it and cringed, unfortunately. It feels a little male gaze-y. Heated Rivalry has ruined me for any other sex scenes. Jacob Tierney needs to give master classes in dialogue, lighting, music, and editing of sex scenes. |
| I am embarassed at how much this draws me in. |
Right? I’m totally into it. It’s just what I need right now. |
+1 I loved all the books too. It is missing the humor between the male leads- the text message threads are hilarious throughout the book series. Casting is off too- some characters are not at all what I pictured from the authors's description (Jalen Thomas Green as Tucker?), although Garrett and Allie are exactly what I pictured from the books. |
same same same |
Me too! Sometimes you need a show where you do not have to think about but just enjoy for what it is. |

I read the books and agree that John Tucker is completely miscast. I think Garrett and Hannah have lots of chemistry. I'm a sucker for all the books. I think Dean is perfectly cast. I pictured Logan as a bit bigger guy but that one I can live with. Ally is great even though in the books she is blonde. I won't quibble with that one.
I'm a giant sucker for all of the cheese. Inject it in my veins. Yes, it is embarassing for a 57 year old woman but whatever. It keeps me on the treadmill. I don't allow myself to watch it unless I'm exercising. |
