Failed IVF cycle - next menstral cycle REALLY late?

last cycle/month we did IVF. on the 28th day, i started bleeding heavily. blood test came back as negative.

we are going to resume ivf for the next cycle (starting on october), but i haven't gotten my period yet. It's been 37 days. my period has NEVER been this late. has anyone else experienced this? i took home pregnancy tests - and they all came back negative.

please advise! i'm freaking out!!!!!!

I know exactly what you are going through. This happened to me after my last IVF cycle. I was very late just like you and had negative hpts. It turned out that my body just really needed some time to re-adjust itself after taking all of the hormones. Don't forget, during IVF you are asking your hormones and ovaries to do all sorts of things they naturally don't do!

I ended up going on 10 mg of Provera for 10 days to just kick start my period again. It took another 2 months for me to be totally regular again. Ask your Re to give you a prescription for Provera and I'm sure you'll bounce back in a couple of cycles. Just give your body a chance to realign itself. You will be fine.

It just SUCKS waiting. I really hate to miss any more time/cycles. The ole clock is ticking & i'm 39.

On your next cycle did you get a BFP?!

I am just now starting my next IVF cycle after my bout with irregular periods from my last failed IVF cycle so I'm not sure how things will go. I will certainly keep you posted. Good luck and I totally understand how trying this all is on our patience! I wanted to get going again too. Good luck and I hope you are able to do another cycle soon.
