Laurel overtaking azalea

Anonymous
I have a laurel in front of some windows — some azaleas were planted in front of them. Over the past couple of decades the laurel has grown and now overshadows the azalea. Would you cut back the laurel or move the azalea forward?

It would be better to move the azalea to a spot with more room.

Both can be pruned. It’s a lot less work to prune the laurels than to move the azaleas, but if they are still young it might be doable. Azaleas have big heavy root balls.
