Traveling to southern Africa

Looking to do a safari over Labor day weekend, but flights are tricky. Most flights are passing through Qatar or UAE, or have 3 flights vs 2
Would you just book the 3 flight options to avoid those countries?

Flight United from DC to Newark and connect to South Africa from there.

Where are you trying to get to? Many one stop options via Europe to major cities in Africa.

We love the Atlanta to Johannesburg or Cape Town nonstop flights (have taken both).

Avoid Qatar and UAE. Do whatever you need to do to do that.

Did BA club suites to Nairobi via Dulles and London, was really impressed even though everyone craps on BA

Where are you trying to land? It is absolutely unnecessary to fly to the Middle East from the U.S. to reach Southern Africa. You can fly nonstop from Newark and Atlanta. Or try London, Frankfurt, Madrid, Amsterdam, Zurich. So many options.
