Timing of Online Classes

Anonymous
Does anyone know what time the online classes offered by FCPS are? DD will be taking AP Lang online, and also wants to do something else that is offered on the same day, from 7:00 - 10:00 PM. I told her that the classes will probably have timing conflict, but she wanted to see if it would still be possible. Deadline to sign up for that is before school schedules are released, so it would be good to know if FCPS consistently offers their classes at a particular time.

Why is she taking it online?

The earliest "online campus" classes start at 6:00 pm. So it will almost certainly conflict.

There is no space in her regular schedule. She has 8 classes next year.

I thought as much. Thank you.

It’s possible for a class to start before 6 (I taught an online campus course that started at 5:30 this year), but it’s not a guarantee that one will start before 6.

She likes to torture herself.

I don’t understand why a high schooler needs to take 8 classes. Is she trying to graduate early or is this just to look good for college? It’s not healthy. I wouldn’t allow it.

My DS is the same way. Added an extra class, also online.

Not OP, but my DS wants to have an extra Math class under his belt. He is applying to Top 20 engineering schools.

What extra math class? Math is sequential.

Not PP, but AP Statistics.

She wants to join something that has a co-requisite course requirement. If she takes that, and continues the other sequential things she wants to do, she’ll be at 8 classes.
