Can other counties share if they are facing changes to math acceleration in elementary school due to new state guidelines? Montgomery County is getting rid of the only formal (class level) math acceleration at the elementary school level and blaming it on MSDE guidelines. All that will remain is “cluster grouping” for in class acceleration which many parents think is likely to be worthless. Would be very interested to know if similar conversations are happening in neighboring counties.
