SF-86C experience and wait time

| Has anyone gone through the SF-86C process and if so how long did it take? I’m currently waiting for my submission to be reviewed (have recent clearance with no new info to report). It’s been about a week which seems not that long to wait but am curious if I’ll be waiting a lot longer or a matter of weeks. Next step would be an EOD date. |

It varies widely. If waiting, I would expect a few months to complete.
Exact process varies in different parts of govt. Sometimes in DoD there are 3 steps. First, government security officer reviews to verify the forms were completed correctly, signed, etc. Second, same government security officer "interviews" the person. Third, the form gets sent to adjudication. Step one could be 1 day or 1 month. Step 2 could be 1 week or 1 month. Step three is usually 1-6 months, depending mostly on the depth of the backlog. |

| Thanks. This isn’t for DoD so not sure what to expect. Clearance level will be lower than current one. |
