Would you eat rice made on Friday?

Anonymous
Our lovely neighbors gave us some wonderful biryani on Friday night. We were busy all weekend and didn't get a chance to eat it. Would you eat it tonight or did we wait too long?

Straight into the compost bin.

I’d eat it, provided it was sealed and stored in the fridge.

I would eat it today but that's the latest. But also...do you think she made the biryani on Friday or perhaps earlier?

She definitely made it on Friday. I tasted it on Friday and it's so good. I would hate to throw it away, but I don't want to get sick either.

It's been in the fridge the whole time.

As long as it was refrigerated within about an hour of cooking/cooling, it should be fine.

If it sat out for a while at any point, I'd toss at this point.

My DC eats rice with almost every meal (favorite food) and I don't want to cook and toss rice every single day so I'm just religious about storing any excess rice in the fridge as soon as it's cooled.

I wouldn’t give it a sr I d thought unless it smelled bad.

A second thought.

OK thanks all. Looks like it's fine to eat so I'm going to go for it.

I eat week-old rice all the time.

I would put it on a baking sheet in the oven to reheat thoroughly. It’s fine.

Eat it. The spices help extend the best by date

I would eat it. But probably not beyond today.
