I want to take my kids to a show but I have read online that such shows are no longer in existence and have been discontinued.
Is this true? |
| Hope you’re a troll. If not go educate yourself on the horrific nature of Orca kidnapping and captivity and why Sea World can’t do their abominable shows anymore. When you patronize Sea World you support animal cruelty. |
|
Dolphin shows do.
No more orcas |
|
Baltimore aquarium is fun for kids plus has some shows
The other science museum for kids down on the Baltimore harbor is great too. And federal hill parks, a boat ride, a meal, a ballgame. |
| SeaWorld still has orcas. Allegedly the current show is more educational, but videos I found make it look like there's still some splashing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0bFvC-pe7g |
What a fking a$$. |
| Try the shark fin soup while you’re there |
Yes, Sea World still has orcas, and yes they still put on a show. They are not acquiring any new orcas. |
| Buy a cool elephant tusk carving at the souvenir store too Op! |
+ 💯 |
| Dolphins don’t seem to mind performing but orcas seem to hate it and many have attacked their trainers. |
Don't forget the rhino horn! |
Dolphins slam their heads against the tanks. They’re incredibly intelligent and don’t belong in these horrific shows. They belong in the ocean. |
| You can learn how to do a belly flip at the community pool. |
|
Orcas naturally live about 50-90 years. And you can't put a captivity Orca back in the wild. They are immensely social whales. You can't just drop a captivity Orca in the ocean and hope for the best.
No one is buying new Orcas these days. But those in captivity still have long lives. Doing a little song and dance routine for tourists is probably better than just withering away in a swimming pool while they are still alive. |
