Class sizes at Jackson Reed

What are average class sizes? Does it vary by Honors, academy, or regular classes?

Not a family there but I heard the AP classes are huge. Some with 30 plus kids.

Class size isn’t the problem. It’s that honors level classes are a joke and you can only take 1 AP beginning in 10th grade. Smart and driven kids do well there, but smart kids who could benefit from inspired teachers may flounder. APs are very teach to the test.

How does this compare to class sizes at smaller schools like Banneker?

Does DCPS have a cap on class sizes the way that some other school districts do?

There is a cap size in the contract (25 for HS I think) but the language is vague and allows classes to be significantly bigger.
