I find myself swamped with work, teens, pets, and the added burden of caring for a young adult child with disabilities.
Have you tried an AI assistant? If you have, which ones are the best in terms of scheduling and organizing your calendar? Instead of having to think through every single thing, I want tell it: "set up a summer calendar which includes our family trip on these dates, integrate my son's weekly schedule, my daughter's internship dates, and find free weekdays for X and Y medical appointments, A and B car maintenance, and my kid's driving test. And then spin off a prep checklist for my daughter's SAT prep every weekend and send that to her." Something like that. Thoughts? |

No, there’s no ethical reason for this
You can do it |

I'm with you OP. I'd also like to take a screen shot of my kids AP/MCAP testing week and figure out what day/time I'm supposed to drop off and pick up.

OP here. I know right? I feel like I don't know what to ask. Can any AI assistant analyze a photo? Can they be voice activated? I'm in the car, can I issue a stream of new instructions to my phone regarding previous documentation, and then the AI goes looking for specific files on my laptop and they send me a clean spreadsheet with the new instructions in my inbox? That would cut down on commuting time wasting so much. But it would also be a threat to my privacy... |
This is just going to make you dumber. Do you want that tradeoff? |

Yes, I've used AI assistants for these sorts of tasks. You still need to doublecheck their work, and you'll probably end up figuring out there's lots of baked-in assumptions they are making or failing to make, so you'll need to make additional adjustments. By the end of it, you probably could just have done it yourself.
Therefore I disagree it will make you dumber, I actually think it makes you sharper because you've got to critique everything and it helps you externalize your invisible thought process of doing the work yourself. |
OP here. Interesting. I have used ChatGPT and Gemini for certain tasks and I've noticed this exact situation: that they force me to pinpoint exactly what tasks I want, using which criteria and in what context. But I use the free versions on my laptop for occasional tasks and integrate external data manually. What AI Assistants did you find that you can trust with a more seamless access to your data, and are there any who are voice-activated and can sync across devices? |
