I walk by this house daily and often wonder when it was going to hit the market. It’s an eye sore for the most part. It was built in 1975, so it’s not old old. It must be badly maintained inside too, since they won’t post the inside pictures. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1720-N-Bryan-St-Arlington-VA-22201/12078471_zpid/ |
| The value of almost all real estate is in the land. The structure itself is... trifling. |
| well it is next to 7/11 that is worth one million alone. |
So we’re paying 1.5M for land in that location now? I don’t think that property is worth more than 1.2M |
| Who cares? There are many teardowns that have gone for this much or more throughout N Arlington, McLean, Bethesda, and Chevy Chase. This is not interesting in any way. |
That is my kids' favorite 7/11. They can walk to one and ask that I drive them to this one. NGL, worth the price. Kidding. That's a lot of $ for a small lot, not walkable to metro, teardown on a small lot with an obvious legal issue (no inside photos is a tell). |
A lot of new buildings in Lyon village are on that size lot. It’s crazy. |
It's definitely walkable to Metro, but yeah, 17 exterior pics let you know it's a tear-down There's been a dumpster outside for months -- I wonder if the owners were planning something else at some point. This is one of three houses that could have been torn down and replaced with a nice row of townhouses of Arlington/Lyon Village weren't so effing NIMBY |
What’s the obvious legal issue? Or are you assuming there is one just because there aren’t any interior photos? |
