Community Center Party Room

I thought I would call on the collective knowledge of the group for this one.

Does anyone know of any party or community rooms that can be rented for a party. I am thinking of rooms at a community type center owned by DC, Arlington or Alexandria that could be rented to a resident. We are looking to throw a retirement party for a beloved boss in January. (I was willing to have it at my house until I realized that a few people would not be able to participate because of some severe allergies to cats) There is a large party given by the agency, but those of us who have worked for him directly want to do a smaller party to show our appreciation for what a great boss he is/was.

Does anyone know of anything like this?

I know that Arlington, Fairfax and Alexandria all have rec centers that can be rented. Some will not allow alcohol, so they're more suited for children's parties than adult parties. Google "rec center" and the counties of choice to find the websites. (fairfax is "parktakes" if you google that.) You might also ask around of friends who live in nice condo or apartment buildings or communities (like King's Farm or Cameron Station) that have party rooms - you'd have more leeway for alcohol there. We just had a party at my ex's place - $100 rental fee for 4 hours. Another friend had a party at the Chinquapin rec center in Alexandria, which wasn't as nice, but was also reasonable.
