Mother's Day Gift Idea

Anonymous
I am seeking some help for gift ideas for my wife. I really want to get something nice for her. Budget is under $500.

Can some Moms please help me? I really need something to show my appreciation.

Something from Tiffany? Massage? Vineyard outing with girlfriends? Those are things I would enjoy.

A day spa gift certificate, fancy underwear, gift card to Anthropologie, a weekend away with her best friend or a kid free weekend.

I always appreciate when someone asks me. I don't want my preferences crowdsourced.

Do women actually want this or is this just what men want to give women?

Tell us a few things about her so we can provide better ideas.

Sir, we do not know your wife. What does she like? How does she spend her time when she has a day off? What are her hobbies and interests? Women are not a monolith.

Some do. It depends.

No one wants a gift that reminds them of something they aren’t meeting your standards on. For example, a woman who knows she isn’t a great cook doesn’t want a cookbook. She would take it as a hint that her culinary skills need improvement. But a woman who loves to cook would really appreciate a cookbook that’s in her taste.

Same goes for fancy underwear . If she likes sex and likes fancy underwear, she will like it. If she doesn’t, then she will feel guilty and insulted at best.

Depends. If spouse is fit and sex life is great, then absolutely yes. If otherwise, then no.

My DH gave me a $500 gift card to my favorite garden center. Let’s just say that he had a very happy Mother’s Day.

I would love that! $500 would go really far at a garden center, and I always feel guilty spending money there because it is the definition of stuff we do not need.

I wouldn't want any of those things.

I don't mean to make it about me, but to point out to the OP that asking random people about a gift like this doesn't work. Especially from DH to DW.

A gift certificate to an old-lady clothing store? If it's Anthro it might as well be Chico's.

Can’t go wrong with a gift card to a spa or massage place!

I would HATE this.
