Cheer Gyms

Looking for current feedback on cheer gyms accessible from DC (Maryland or Virginia side). Does anyone have current experience or able to give a run down of the different gyms for a Level 3+ athlete? Particularly interested in Cheer Extreme DMV, Top Gun Maryland or Virginia, Sting Rays, Phoenix Elite - thanks!

Definitely not Phoenix Elite for us. My daughter was on two teams there and while they do well in comps, the environment with the girls felt really excluding. She’s a very likable kid, but there was just so much girl drama and a lot of girls who had known each other for years that didn’t seem very open to letting new girls in. It just wasn’t a great experience socially for her.

Thanks PP! My daughter loves cheer and while she’s interested in what she perceives as a competitive gym culture feels really important. Did your daughter continue in cheer elsewhere?

We had the exact same experiences! Very very tough to break into the social circle, including the mom groups.

Stingray Allstars Senior 3 coed Twilight was the most successful level 3 team in the area this past season. They placed first at Cheersport.

Stingray Allstars Senior 3 coed Twilight

This name is hilarious. I hope that doesn’t have to be in any of their cheers!

Top Gun has a VERY strict attendance policy, may or may not be what you're looking for.
