Machine

Does anyone have any feedback on Machine for their older (high school) training groups? It looks like they split between 2 sites for practices?

What specifically are you looking for? HS trainings at a competitive level or more maintenance? Which locations?

they have 12 sites with HS kids at all sites.

Mostly interested in the new Chesterbrook location. It appears they have practices for competitive HS students split between that site and at Oakmarr maybe?

Not sure about Oakmarr, but we didn’t have a great experience with the coaches at Chesterbrook.

We know several older kids at the morning practice at Chesterbrook who are happy with it.

My kids only do once a week there and overlap with the older kid evening practice, which is very small. I believe it's a lower group, (so fewer practices/week) which is a nice option for kids who don't want to swim in the early mornings.

Can you say more about this?

Don’t know what PP means, but Coach Evan and Coach Blair are special coaches.

We love the competitive morning Machine practices at Chesterbrook. My high school student loves coach Blair and coach Evan. In 5 years, I’ve never heard anyone else who didn’t say the same.

We are at CB and have had a positive experience. However, we also know families that moved to other Machine sites bc their experience with the coaching staff wasn't as positive. At the end of the day, do your home work, ask around, and decide what's best for your kids.

We were with the aforementioned coaches at Tuckahoe (before Chesterbrook site) and it was meh. I wouldn't say our experience was very negative, but it certainly was not as special as some of the other posters are saying.

We ended up leaving Machine as a whole and are much happier at our new club!

Machine has several sites. Coaching quality is not the same at every site.

I'm a parent with kids that swim with Machine and from what I can gather from speaking with parents with kids at other clubs, kids just respond differently to different coachng styles/personalities.

No the practices at our machine site was disorganized it’s not about coaching style. We had inconsistent coaching, young coaches (high school) and practices that weren’t well planned. I have heard good things about other sites but it was not a good experience for us.
