Preschool and Daycare Discussion
Does anyone have any information on this center? I did a search and did not see anything recently. We recently moved to the area and it would be nice to have a center so close., although I imagine it has a killer waitlist. Does anyone know the cost/contract times? Trying to determine if it's worth it to schedule a visit. TIA.
My kids go there. We got on 4 waitlists and we got placement in this center first so it is definitely worth a visit.
We got in off of the waitlist, but we had been on it for almost a year. I recall the infant rate being around $1400/month. It is definitely worth a vist. We ultimately went with a center located near work. The building is quite old and I recall hearing that they had lost A/C for days over the summer. Other than that, I don't have much information.
Agreed with the old building -- we were very unimpressed with the physical facilities.
My 2 kids just started there a month ago. So far so good. Large rooms, good outdoor space and neighborhood. The teachers have been great at transitioning my kids.

I toured there and was not impressed. The building is old and the classrooms and toys seemed dirty. Some of the teachers in the class my son would have attended weren't interacting much at all with the kids in the class.
I ended up sending my son to the Falls Church Mclean Children's Center on Idylwood. It's amazing and a little known secret. They have a wait list for the 2 year old classroom, but have spaces available for the 3 year old preschool. The child has to be potty trained to advance up the preschool class. i believe they are NAYEC accredited. Totally great place-there are 3 teachers that have been there for 25 years. |
