I get the ads all the time, but am always suspicious of the aggressive marketing. Can anyone recommend someone to replace some windows that were never properly installed on a 20 year old builder grade home? They are super leaky and the sash falls, letting in bugs -- handymen have told me that they can't be fixed because they weren't installed properly to begin with.

I would go to Lowes or HD and pick "new construction" (NOT insert-type windows) then have them measure and would use their installer. Single window transaction with Lowes/HD not a separate transaction for installation by someone else.

Call Crystal Exteriors and Unicorp. They’ve done fantastic work for us in 2 homes. No pressure, no BS, detailed quotes and very straightforward to work with. We had everything replaced: they took out the old windows and frame, built new frames and installed the new windows in that.

I had 8 companies out. yes, I'm a glutton for punishment and willing to do the research and evaluate each one on price, warranty, company, etc. This after having been burned in the past.

We went with Pro-Edge to replace all 24 of our windows and two sliding glass doors and couldn't be happier. Great company, makes their own product and has been in business since the 60s.
