Bottoms for summer that aren’t denim shorts?

Anonymous
I’m 45 and my legs have never been my best feature even in my youth. I’m not interested in short shorts, but, need options for bottoms for summer. I’ve usually chosen knee length skirts but haven’t seen anything cute recently. Any links or recs for summer bottoms? I might be ok with certain shorts, just not super short ones meant for women in their 20s.

Skorts. I haven’t looked recently but check all the usual athleisure suspects.

I wear loose flowy black pants for 95% of the summer. Linen or cotton. The other 5% you might find me in a dress.

I got a couple pairs of knee length, dressy Bermuda shorts for this summer. I would NEVER have bought something like this 10 years ago, because it's kind of a middle aged look. But I'm mid-40s and slim, and also don't love my thighs. I tired these on and was surprised by how flattering they are. It's like a knee length skirt but a bit more comfortable and versatile -- I can wear them to a baseball game or a barbecue and feel pulled together.

What kind of question is this?

I wear cropped pants/jeans, flowey full length pants, longer but not knee length jean or kacki shorts, and I wear capris on the golf course.

This seems like a normal question. OP just wants ideas.

These will all only look good on skinny twenty something’s wearing them ironically.

Yes to the baggy long shorts, but the two pairs of pants look comfy and cute. The Uniqlo ones I might size down in because they look a little too baggy fur my taste on the model.

What kind of skirts do you like? I think skirts tend to look better than shorts. But for shorts, I've been leaning towards the more "tailored" ones, or just plain linen shorts.
