| I can't find it online - can someone link it here? They have one for the school as a hole as well as for the SMCS but not for the CAPS program itself. |
| Can you ask your school's College and Career counselor (or some variation of that title)? |
| There is not a separate profile for Blair CAP (and most schools do not have separate profiles for magnet programs). |
| Sorry - typo "hole vs "whole" |
Blair magnet parent here. There is a separate profile for the magnet kids. Do you know for sure that there isn’t one for the CAP kids? |
| CAP doesn't need a special profile because the magnet part is in the electives, not displacing the regular 5 core academic subject tracks at Blair. |

Such an advantage for the CAPS kids! Magnet kids have a chart which shows GPA and SAT distribution just with other magnet kids. 1/2 the class has 4.0 UW and the median SAT is 1515.
Everyone assumes that the strong T20 acceptances are magnet kids but I'd guess a fair number are the CAPS kids too (and other strong Blair students). |
| Isn't it CAP, not CAPS? |
Strong Blair Kids... ha. Want to bet T20 drops to only a couple once Blair stops importing kids |
CAP kids absolutely do well in college admissions, with a few Ivies every year and a lot of WASP-type SLACs. I have a current senior whose extracurriculars mean they have a lot of friends in both programs and outcomes are pretty good this year all around. |
Are these kids posting on Instagram? Not that many for the 800-900 size of the class. |
I know a CAP kid this year going to an Ivy. |
| I think Blair SMCS is the only magnet program in MCPS with a separate profile and it does not help kids at all except those towards the top of the distribution. And yes CAP students have had great results this year, better than what we had heard from previous years. |
Only about 100 kids per year are in CAP |
