| I am 48, haven't had a period in several months and all of my bloodwork just came back basically saying that I am in menopause. Do I do HRT or is it fine since it kind of snuck up on me? Will it get worse? I feel caught off guard! |
| Don't declare menopause until you have gone a full year without a period. You could do a blood draw every day for a year in middle aged women and get a different result each time. |

Come back in a year.
Don't do any hormones unless needed badly. |
| Do you have any symptoms? No reason to do HRT if you don’t and it seems you didn’t. |

Why would you do HRT if you have no symptoms?
I have erratic cycles, night sweats, and hot flashes and I’m not interested at this point. |
At 48 it’s worth having a conversation with a physician about this. HRT has preventative effects in heart disease and bone health. |
No it doesn’t. |
