| My older daughter played in a Shots up Tournament last week. I was told they have an AAU team at the younger ages for girls. My younger daughter is in 4th grade. Any one know how competitive into make that team at the younger ages on the girls side? |
| Hard to say how competitive it might be not knowing the team. But AAU teams are already formed and in the middle of their main season right now. As a 4th grader it would be good to look into playing on a select-level summer league team and playing select/FCYBL next fall and winter to get ready for AAU tryouts next spring. |

Shots Up forms spring AAU teams but not for every age group, depends on turn out and availability of coaches. It is hard yto know of upcoming tryouts unless you follow a team on Instagram or via word of mouth.
If I were you, I'd attend local tournaments with Girl teams in your daughter's age range, study the level of play in comparison to your daughter's skill level, then when you find a match (skill level and practice location), go speak to the coach to express interest. In the mean time, sign her up for summer camps. My son always improved over the summer by attending lots of camps. |
