Good Ob/Gyn for menopause in the DMV not hostage to private equity or hustling treatments not covered by insurance??

This seems like a unicorn.

Is there a person who will listen to you, examine you, and assess you for HRT in particular?

I had to find an MD/functional medicine doctor and pay cash. I'm not in the DMV.

I was really suffering.

My multi decade long term Gyn would not prescribe anything and told me women tough it out and to try black cohosh which did not work.

I found my provider in Fairfax through menopause.org, which has a provider search. Good luck.

Carina Ryder at Takoma Park Gynecology. She is a CNM.

Can't speak to the private equity, but I've had good experiences with Fairfax Gynecology.

Yes, this. She doesn't take insurance, but you can probably submit for reimbursement.

She is the unicorn you're looking for. Good listener, impossible to embarrass or be embarrassed by. Stocks nitrous for procedures and gets visibly angry about providers who recommend "an ibuprofen" for IUD insertion. Also, soft lighting, soft cotton robes, and quilts instead of paper on the exam table.

Dr Susan Hurson but she does not take insurance.
