| Georgetown vs JHU ,major in IR. |
| G-town |
| SFS? |
| I taught in both SFS and SAIS for their Masters program. Students in SAIS seem better, while SFS students have more diverse background. Both have more international students. |
| Hopkins. College is about being in a new environment, assuming OP is from the DMV. |
| Georgetown. This is an obvious choice. Not even close. |
The rat infested, crumbling, and poor school is the obvious choice? Please. |
| Georgetown. At our school, uw 4.0 or close is required for Georgetown SFS. IR at JHU will take students in the 3.7 range or below ED. |
Interesting because Georgetown is considered a literal safety for 3.8+ 1490+ at our school but the HYPS admits don’t bother with JHU because they don’t take anyone. |
| JHU has an undergraduate five-year BA/MAIR program. Is this the one you are referring to? SAIS is really for graduate students. |
Georgetown takes any full pay kid with a pulse from NYC TT schools. |
| Georgetown SFS. Way more connections than JHU. The prestige is not at the same level. |
Yes, SAIS takes tons of international MS students, it's one of JHU's diploma mill for-profit programs. |
|
Well they're both great schools for IR - congrats to your student, OP!
G-town SFS is usually ranked the best for IR by all the relevant experts, but if DC is already in the DMV, they may want a bit of a stretch and change of scene. And probably getting a Masters in IR at Georgetown is even better than an undergrad degree. |
|
both great schools for IR. will get a great education at both.
now cue the fighting about Georgetown's rats and mold vs Baltimore's crime and JHU being (gasp!) 50%+ Asian. |
